Key goals of the Indigo Program are to improve experiences for AEC staff and citizens, and to ensure that the integrity of Australia’s democratic systems is maintained into the future.The Indigo Product and Design Branch within Enterprise Strategy and Transformation Division ensures new solutions delivered by the Indigo Program meet the strategic goals of the agency, improve services for end users, meet business needs and follow industry standard best practice.The Indigo Product and Design Branch is committed to establishing and maintaining a high performing and positive workplace culture. You will operate in a fast paced, dynamic environment, working closely with Directors, Assistant Commissioners, First Assistant Commissioners, and all areas across the Enterprise Transformation Group.The T2B Future Planning Section is focused on planning for the next Tranche of work for the Indigo Program, including ongoing sustainment for new capabilities and decommissioning legacy technologies.Cultural fit is key as is the ability to maintain open and honest communication and collaboration. We are seeking candidates to lead and inspire dynamic teams to achieve strategic objectives and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.The AEC is committed to the APS values of being impartial, committed to service, accountable, respectful and ethical.The OpportunityThis role will work closely with the Director T2B Future Planning to plan and design the next Tranche of work, with the main output being the development of a business case and budget proposal to be considered as part of the Financial Year 2027-2028 budget process.This role is one that will work with specific stream leads to ensure the overall project work is on track and supported where needed. This is not a delivery role, it is focused on planning and designing for the future. The role will be expected to work closely with key Program and business stakeholders to ensure the build of the business case is strategically aligned to executive expectations.As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of project activities including, procurement, technical, risk, schedule, quality, workforce and industry relationships as they relate to the development of a Second Pass Business Case and budget proposal.You will monitor and report on project progress as well as escalating risks and issues where required to ensure full transparency, manage compliance with Program governance and produce high quality project and program documentation and status reporting for Executive and steering committee reporting and, communicate and make decisions that are based on professional judgement and experience, evaluating risks in a complex operating environment.Further duties include working independently, under broad direction, with a concurrent need to resolve issues and deliver quality outcomes, liaising with and maintaining key internal and external relationships, including liaising with stakeholders on policy, project or operational issues and action items and responding to stakeholder needs and expectations.To excel you’ll have:

• The ability to lead and work as part of a team to deliver transformation projects to achieve program, budget, and quality outcomes.
• Skills to solve complex problems and lead issues management for internal and external stakeholders, and work collaboratively, including through influence and negotiation, to achieve positive outcomes.
• The ability to establish, develop and maintain strong working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication skills, including through high quality analysis, briefings and reports.
• A strong skillset to ensure risk management activities are undertaken and managed to achieve project positive outcomes.
• Capabilities to apply highly developed project management and organisation skills to manage competing demands and meet deadlines.
