Your role will include supporting our continuing growth and making the difference to both our business and to the New Zealand construction sector.You will be a Project Manager within our New Zealand Real Estate business working on a variety of client and Turner & Townsend projects and initiatives across various sectors.Job Objectives:

  • Contributing to our achievement of Turner & Townsend’s global vision
  • Establishing friendly and professional relationships with clients, colleagues and other parties involved in the projects and programmes we deliver
  • Delivering a full suite of Project Management activities from Project Initiation through to Close Out
  • Administering a variety of contracts (commonly NZS3910) in accordance with project objectives and policies
  • Delivering clear and concise reporting to clients to provide visibility on project status, risks and issues, and allow our clients to make timely and informed decisions
  • Pro-actively monitoring and managing risks and issues, with a focus on achieving great outcomes for our clients.
  • Managing and collaborating with client, consultant and contractor teams to manage the achievement of project deliverables
  • Managing contract change effectively, ensuring that projects remain within governance and adopt best practice
  • Proactively providing sound commercial knowledge and support to all stakeholders
  • Leading people and commissions as needed
  • Supporting and driving business development opportunities

ExperiencePrevious experience and a sound and suitable understanding of the following will be a distinct advantage in applying for this role:

  • Project and Programme Management
  • Contract Management (NZ3910, NEC)
  • Programming / scheduling (Software experience including MS Project, P6)
  • Risk Management
  • Procurement
  • Cost Management
  • Reporting
  • Stakeholder management
  • Sharing best practice
  • Commission management
  • Information management
  • Identifying and driving efficiencies and improvements through the project lifecycle
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management and value engineering.

Sector ExperienceWhilst we will consider candidates with a range of sector experience, candidates with experience in the following sectors are particularly sought.

  • Commercial developments and office fit outs
  • Retail developments and fit outs
  • Education (Schools, Universities)
  • Health
  • Residential

Qualifications

  • Ideally Degree qualified (or equivalent qualification) relating to a technical field: Construction Management or Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Cost Management or relatable trade experience
  • 3 – 5+ years project management experience (ideally including client side/consulting experience)
  • Ideally hold or be working towards an appropriate professional body membership or equivalent.
