Job description: Job Description:WE’RE LOOKING FOR A PROJECT MANAGER (1 YEAR CONTRACT)Location: Fort Erie, ONAirbus Helicopters Canada’s Programs Department is responsible for acquisition, completion, maintenance, repair and delivery of helicopters to its Canadian and global customers. Our goal is: To create and sustain a reliable customer experience in order to drive customer loyalty. The Project Manager is encouraged to make outstanding efforts to establish, implement and supervise activities associated with aircraft completion, maintenance and repair in accordance with Airbus Helicopters Procedures. The Project Manager will coordinate all involved departments; establish, supervise and revise schedules and budgets; track and lead changes; support the writing of contracts and manage their execution; assess and handle risks. Strong (internal and external) communication, efficient time management and prioritization, leadership skills and personal engagement are key to success in this role.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESProject Team ManagementPartner with various team members to bring the project to completion on schedule, on budget and on quality. (OTD, Financial Performance, Customer Satisfaction)Communication with internal and external stakeholdersConduct contract review meetings for new aircraft completionsDocument/update program risks, mitigate and monitor their impacts throughout project life cycleTranslate the executed contracts into internal statements of work, control revisions, and manage changesUnderstand and manage schedule and budget related to the projectEvaluate and challenge productivity targets and resultsCustomer ManagementGuide customer through the aircraft acquisition and completion processFocus on customer experience and manage-to-contractMake the customer feel welcome by listening and understanding the customer.Educate and advise the customerLead difficult and sensitive situations with finesseEnsure customer satisfactionScheduling and PlanningResponsible for developing the completions schedule for the assigned projectsContinuous monitoring of project progress. Track project timelines on a weekly basis and update with actual start/finish dates. Define counter measures and recovery schedules with the team to maintain the customer delivery dateProvide inputs to the department’s production schedule and workload planningMake schedule adjustments based on changing project requirementsKeep project team, customer and leadership informed on changing project requirementsProject Budgeting and Project ControlDevelop project budgets with inputs from functional departments in MS Excel and MS Access DatabaseVerify inputs from functional departments using actuals from previous similar projectsCheck overall validity of budget inputsAdjust budget based on change orders (see contract management)Track Cost Performance Indicator (CPI)R&D and Project ManagementPrepare business cases for new engineering development projectsPrepare Customer Quotes for new STC development workMonitor project progress and budgetContract ManagementEarly involvement in the offer/proposal/sales phaseSupport sales and offer teams with technical advice, e.g. configuration, compatibility etc.Full ownership of contract from early in the process all the way through completionConduct (Pre-)Contract Review meetings with the Project Team to confirm configuration, identify and mitigate project risksReal-time and accurate tracking of contractual changes, i.e. change order management reflected in schedule and budget adjustmentsEDUCATION & JOB REQUIREMENTSEducationUniversity Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Engineering or a related field.Project/Program Management CertificationExperience5 years of experience in aerospace project management including aircraft completions, maintenance and repair, or equivalentKnowledgeable in Transport Canada regulationsFinancial experience for budgeting purposesTechnical experience to comprehend technical data packagesKnowledge, Skills, Demonstrated CapabilitiesAbility to communicate effectively in writing and verballyProactive in identifying risks & appropriate mitigations.Able to take initiativeExcellent organizational skills; able to prioritize work and meet deadlinesAbility to travel both domestically and internationally when requiredAble to communicate effectively both written and verbalAbility to handle high-stress situations and while maintaining performance of daily activitiesFast learner and adapterBe a great teammate: Humility, Hunger for Success, SmartnessAbility to gain respect through performanceAbility to capture and interpret relevant data and informationThis job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.Company: Airbus Helicopters Canada LtdEmployment Type: Fixed termExperience Level: Entry LevelJob Family: Programme & Project Management
