Job description: Our OpportunityWork Location: Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.Roster: Monday to Friday.Fortescue is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to support business-wide projects and enhance how we approach continuous improvement at Fortescue. Reporting to the Accelerated Business Driver (ABD) Manager, this role will ensure projects and workstreams stay on track, provide clear oversight of initiatives, and facilitate project stand-ups. Additionally, the role will focus on reviewing, overhauling, and rolling out a global Business Improvement (BI) system, incorporating stakeholder feedback to shape a more effective framework, while also providing ongoing governance and support to BI leads across the business.This Principal position will be responsible for providing central governance and support for Fortescue’s BI efforts and improvement platforms & systems. With the relaunch of improvement platforms & systems planned for FY26, this role will play a critical part in uplifting and reestablishing BI cadences, implementing sustainable routines, and ensuring ongoing cost savings pipeline support for the entire business.Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective project governance, tracking, and reporting, providing clear oversight of ongoing workstreams.
  • Keep leadership and teams aligned by running project stand-ups and ensuring accountability across initiatives.
  • Identify and remove bottlenecks to improve execution efficiency and drive strategic outcomes.
  • Lead the review, redesign, and global implementation of Fortescue’s Business Improvement system, ensuring it meets business needs.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and refine the BI governance framework to prioritize and value improvement opportunities effectively.
  • Provide ongoing governance, guidance, and support to BI leads across the business to ensure consistency and effectiveness in business improvement initiatives.
  • Support the relaunch of improvement platforms & systems for FY26 by reestablishing BI cadences, embedding sustainable business improvement routines, and driving an ongoing cost savings pipeline for the entire business.
  • Support financial and operational teams in achieving business improvements, including process optimization and cash flow enhancements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive experience in corporate or operational business improvement roles.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects while maintaining timelines and budgets.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in financial and operational performance analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience in software or system project implementation is desirable but not essential.
  • Power BI experience is preferred but not essential.
