With a full suite of innovative products and underwriting experience in APAC, continuous training and career development are key priorities, alongside growth and sustainable underwriting.The role will report to the Head of Financial Lines and Casualty and will be responsible for the profitable growth of the Programs Portfolio. This includes underwriting and operations of schemes and facilities in compliance with International Financial Lines and Casualty Programs Referral Process, where full analysis of Actuarial, Claims and Programs Terms and Conditions are required. The role will also be responsible for managing DUA relationships, underwriting referrals from AIG’s Managing General Agent/s and audit of policies issued by MGAs.Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:
- Underwriting Schemes and Facilities both for renewal and new business within authorities granted and in accordance with profit centre guidelines.
- Reviewing and updating Binder Agreements with MGAs/Capacity Holders
- Developing and executing strategies for the teams’ products to ensure targets are met through sustainable portfolio underwriting.
- Establish/Maintain strong customer/industry relationships including Broker relationships with indigenous and international broking firms, assisting with the roll out of new products and initiatives. Service clients and brokers across New Zealand. Undertake presentation to clients and/or brokers where required, including product specific training and pitching for business.
- Jointly responsible for executing the Financial Lines business plans and budgets and carry out the appropriate functions within the business.
- Attain appropriate levels of expertise in all product lines including changes and developments.
- Complete all delegated projects in the manner expected and requested by the Head of Financial Lines and Casualty.
- Full participation in local and regional training (underwriting and personal skills).
- Undertake department’s self-audit and peer review procedures as required.
- Responsibility for monitoring of premium processing that ensures that estimates are met and that premiums are processed in a timely manner, that accounts are processed according to AIG guidelines and GST rules as well as monitoring receivables and unallocated cash and liaise with Accounts Department with regard to collections to ensure credit control procedures are maintained and followed to company standards.
- Assist Head of Financial Lines and Casualty with ongoing business analyst tasks such as assisting with quarterly and/or annual budgets, forecasting, submission tracking and any other financial reporting task as allocated.
