Job description: OverviewThinkWell is an international health systems development organization focused on using tailored health financing approaches to help low- and middle-income countries achieve universal health coverage. ThinkWell employs a “whole-of-systems” approach to health financing. We specialize in five practice areas that intersect with health financing: governance, human resources for health, private sector, public financial management, and research and evaluation.ThinkWell has a growing portfolio of projects in Pakistan and is building a team of talented and motivated staff. We are seeking a Program Analyst to provide technical assistance and analytical and operational support to SP4PHC (Strategic Purchasing for Primary Healthcare), a 4-year funded project by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and more such upcoming projects in the future. The Program Analyst will particularly work on providing support to Government of Sindh on Health Financing/Strategic Purchasing, UHC implementation, community health worker expansion, private sector mainstreaming etc. The Program Analyst brings strong analytical skills and research capacity (usually in health economics and financing), the ability to effectively synthesize and visualize findings, translate messages for various audiences, draft concept notes and reports and provide program coordination support.The Program Coordinator will be based in Karachi, Sindh and will report to the Technical Advisor, Sindh.Please note: Pakistan nationals are encouraged to apply. This position is contingent upon funding.What you’ll doProject Analysis and Implementation‒ Prepare data or clean up data for qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Use primary data collection instruments for research studies, such as surveys and semi-structured interview guides; pre-plan analytic methods to inform data collection design and meet project objectives; develop and maintain Excel workbooks for data repository, cleaning, and analysis.‒ Conduct systematic literature review, source data, and information on relevant technical and policy issues, and effectively summarize findings.‒ Support and develop concept notes, policy briefs, report, analysis as and when required.‒ Any work assigned by the line manager/supervisorCommunications‒ Draft or revise sections of reports and coordinate team member input.‒ Support the development of storyboards, structure, and content from compiled data and findings for compelling PowerPoint slide decks which are logically organized and visually appealing.‒ Draft correspondence for projects as requested, including meeting agendas and minutes, as well as notes from engagements such as technical reviews, client meetings, and project workshops.Project Administration and Operations‒ Assist with various project administrative and operational responsibilities, including staff training, communications, organizing meetings and workshops, coordinating travel when asked, and drafting correspondence.‒ Organize and manage version control for project documents, including Excel workbooks, narrative reports, and PowerPoint slide decks, to facilitate team efficiency and accuracy and to ensure high-quality client deliverables.‒ Support best practice documentsRequirements1. BA/BSc and 3+ years of experience.2. Relevant work experience in a management consulting firm, bilateral or multilateral development agency, and/or international non-governmental organization preferably in Pakistan strongly preferred. Experience in health or family planning sectors will be an added advantage.3. Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required; proficiency in statistical analysis packages (e.g., STATA) is preferred; Data visualization techniques/skills would be an added advantage.4. Exceptional analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities.5. A thoughtful systems thinker with a grounded, pragmatic understanding of the complexities of our work.6.Tech savvy and skilled at visual display of data.7.Demonstrated poise and professionalism in engaging with external partners, donors, and stakeholders.8.Excellent fluency in English and Urdu; additional languages are a plus.9.Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to relate respectfully with staff at all levels, ages, genders, nationalities, and orientations as well as across work areas.10.Ability and willingness to travel.
