Job description: Mō te tūranga | About the RoleThe Product/Service Owner is the owner/operator running a ‘business’ that is responsible for delivering a service on a day-to-day and sprint-to-sprint basis. They work closely with internal customers to understand their needs, and defines the service vision, roadmap, and backlog, utilising prioritisation framework(s) for effective trade-off decisions.They are responsible for defining stories and prioritising the team backlog to streamline the execution of QPP planning requirements. The Product/Service Owner will work alongside nengineering teams to tell a story and focus on the journey, they will be working closely with the head of digital engineering.Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

  • Experience with working on platforms as a product
  • Experience working with engineering teams in a Java environment
  • Experience with SDLC / ITIL / Service Management
  • Strong stakeholder management experience
  • An understanding of banking/finance industry standards and regulations
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and best practices, from concept and planning through to delivery and ongoing support.
  • Experience with leading development teams and delivering products within complex environments.
  • Experience with managing scope and prioritisation, making data-based decisions and negotiating dependencies with other teams across the organisation.
  • Experience with iterative and continuous delivery methods and proficiency with visualising and presenting things like roadmaps.
  • The ability to collaborate and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders, suppliers, and business partners.
  • The ability to record, monitor and manage an Agile team’s costs and budgets.
