Job Purpose
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Delivery & Analytics, the Product Governance Manager is a key member of the Product Team. Working closely with the Product Management teams and cross-functional stakeholders, the Product Governance Manager leads the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the Product & Fulfillment team’s governance, compliance and risk control initiatives, programs and processes.Accountabilities

  • Partners with other key stakeholders that support Product & Fulfillment (P&F) to contribute to product strategies to ensure our processes comply with all Risk and Regulatory policies, standards and guidelines.
  • Provides support to the Product Leadership Team in fostering a positive risk and compliance culture in the Product & Fulfillment team.
  • Leads the development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the Product & Fulfillment team’s governance, compliance and risk control initiatives, programs and processes.
  • Acts as an internal consultant regarding regulations and key control management for key business strategies and tactics.
  • Acts as the designated 1B/point of contact for Oversight Functions and Internal Audit responsible for managing and coordinating response packages.
  • Leads various risk and compliance-related ‘Designated 1B’ activities, including but not limited to:
  • Co-ordination of RCSAs and CRCAs
  • Incident analysis
  • Issue Manager for operational and compliance Issues and OREs
  • Monitoring progress and providing timely updates to FCAC for Reportable Compliance Issues (RCIs)
  • Regulatory and risk monitoring
  • Regulatory change management
  • Controls testing, monitoring, and reporting
  • Oversees an effective and well-documented internal control structure in place for P&F, following current governance and risk requirements and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Law or Compliance
  • 7 – 9 years of professional experience
  • 3+ years of experience in Audit, Regulatory Compliance, 2nd Line Testing or Business/1st Line Controls Testing with a federally regulated financial institution
  • Strong data analysis and modelling skills in MS Excel
  • Expertise in process design
  • Expertise in governance, risk and control procedures, and methodologies
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in product management, strategic planning, and project management, sufficient to identify, develop and implement approved initiatives in a federally regulated financial institution.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and presentation skills are sufficient to prepare and present material to an executive audience.
  • Ability to review processes and controls and “connect the dots” across issues and control deficiencies to increase standardization of solutions, processes and controls
  • Able to understand and convey regulatory requirements, guidelines, standards, policies, and results of analysis to inform effective decision-making
  • Driven by collective success, fosters a positive working environment with partners and stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective risk mitigation strategies
