About the role:The role exists to deliver Information and Communications Technology (ICT) procurement category management and vendor management within Cloud Infrastructure. It will require the development of Category Plans, subsequent sourcing/negotiation initiatives and ongoing management of the existing contract portfolio and vendors.You will have experience managing cloud hyperscale provider such as such as Microsoft, AWS or Google and understanding terms and conditions especially performance metrics like Service Levels and KPIs are essential. Previous experience with Microsoft enterprise negotiations would be favourable.This role sits within a close-knit team where no two days are the same, offering plenty of variety and allowing you to be involved in a range of activities end to end from idea generation to expiry.This is a unique opportunity to join a leading Australian Insurer invested in the changing digital and environmental landscape, where you will have the chance to be involved in strategy creation and delivery of commercial outcomes that enable technology solutions that focus on building futures and protecting what matters for our customers.What you’ll do:

  • Manage external vendor relations & performance including SLA’s governance within Cloud Infrastructure
  • Implement and manage vendor governance framework and supplier review processes
  • Perform as functional bridge amongst external vendors as well as internal stakeholders
  • Develop and implement Category plans, sourcing strategies and/or negotiation strategies including define appropriate supply models for each category of spend and establish contracts that are competitive, reduce risk and optimise supply through appropriate SLAs
  • Determine the roles & responsibilities between Technology Procurement & Vendor Management and stakeholders within T&T
  • Interpret T&C’s, resolve vendor disputes that have been escalated or are of a systematic or strategic nature and work with T&T Domains to resolve supplier performance and governance issues

What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in vendor management or procurement
  • Experience in managing a cloud hyperscale provider such as Microsoft, AWS or Google is essential
  • Previous experience with Microsoft enterprise negotiations and knowledge of the Microsoft contract structure would be highly favourable
  • Experience in large organisations with complex environments, a background in the Insurance industry would be highly regarded
  • Experience in a centralised procurement/commercial environment providing services to a broad customer base.
  • Experience in working with others in a (preferably commercial) strategy setting role.
  • Experience in influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, and delivering quality outputs within tight timeframes
