Job description: Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our client in Moncton, NB. This is an engaging contract opportunity where you will handle procurement activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and optimizing cost-efficiency while meeting organizational needs.Experience in the public sector is a strong asset, as this role requires familiarity with public procurement processes, policies, and best practices.Key Responsibilities of the Job:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet organizational needs and ensure compliance with public procurement regulations
- Manage vendor relationships, including negotiations, contract development, and performance monitoring
- Conduct cost analysis and supplier evaluations to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Prepare and process purchase orders, RFPs, RFQs, and contracts in a timely and efficient manner
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their procurement needs and provide guidance on procurement best practices
- Ensure all procurement activities are in line with organizational policies, government regulations, and industry standards
- Resolve any issues related to contracts, vendor disputes, or procurement discrepancies
Skills & Attributes for Success:
- Post-secondary education in business, supply chain management, or a related field
- 3+ years of procurement experience, with a focus on public sector procurement preferred
- Strong knowledge of public procurement processes, regulations, and best practices
- Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy; ability to exercise independent judgment and focus on customer service
