Due to a retirement, we have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Business Partner to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving the University’s procurement strategy and delivering value across a range of services. In this exciting position, you will collaborate with senior leaders and key stakeholders to implement innovative procurement strategies that support the University’s mission and goals.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of best practice procurement strategies.
  • Provide expert advice, mentoring, and support to senior leadership across the University.
  • Collaborate on large-scale, multi-stakeholder procurement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to policy development, educate stakeholders, and ensure procurement practices meet the University’s compliance, operational, and strategic objectives.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate agreements, and support contract implementation and supplier relationship management.

Mōu | Who You Are
To be successful in this role you will have at least 10 years’ procurement expertise, managing large scale procurement projects in a multi-stakeholder environment, and have:

  • a Bachelor’s degree in management, procurement or relevant field
  • an alignment with our organisation’s values and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • IPS Membership: Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) membership
  • experience in managing corporate, legal, library, digital, and maintenance contracts. (an advantage)
  • proven ability to manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, ensuring sound decision-making and optimal outcomes
  • strong relationship-building skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive partnerships
  • a thorough understanding of current market conditions and business needs that influence procurement strategies
  • a strong understanding of the financial, risk, and legal aspects of procurement and contract management
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • an alignment with our organisation’s values and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.

The role of Financial Services is to provide central procurement, accounting, business insight, advice, and processing of financial transactions. The unit provides a high-quality service while developing and maintaining excellent collaborative relationships with internal and external customers. The procurement team champions the end-to-end procurement process – from identifying business need, through to contract management.
