On offer is:About the role:Reporting through to the Manager of Planning, Policy and Community Wellbeing, you will guide the region’s development and economic success. You will oversee land use planning, economic development and environmental plans, lead a team and ensure the region develops in an organised and sustainable way. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing leadership of a team that covers strategic land use planning, economic development, environmental matters, flood modelling and strategic engineering;
• Developing land use plans and initiatives;
• Overseeing project delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget;
• Advising on improvements to departmental operations;
• Keeping up to date on planning assessment processes and ensuring procedures reflect economic, legal and policy considerations; and
• Providing expert and timely advice to internal and external groups.

About you:To be successful in this role, you will need at least 5 years of experience in strategic planning. You will also require excellent communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation. The role requires a high level of political awareness to understand and support the organisation’s vision while ensuring alignment with legislative frameworks.
