Job description: Our client is a global Semiconductor company in Penang that is seeking a Principal Failure Analysis Engineer.Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct failure analysis using electrical, physical, and chemical methods.
• Use tools like SEM, FIB, X-ray, and thermal imaging to investigate failures.
• Identify root causes through data analysis and systematic investigation.
• Document findings, methodologies, and recommendations for improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to prevent future failures.
• Provide technical support on product failures and reliability.
• Assist in cost recovery negotiations with suppliers.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives.
• Stay updated on failure analysis techniques and semiconductor technology.
• Authority to stop any process or product delivery for non-compliance with customer expectations, safety, or environmental standards

Skills & Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degree and Six Sigma certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor physics, device structures, and reliability testing.
• Proficiency in failure analysis tools (SEM, FIB, X-ray) and problem-solving techniques (8D, Fishbone, 5 Why).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Preferred: experience with FAB manufacturing, quality tools, and statistical techniques (FMEA, SPC, DOE).
• 15+ years in the semiconductor industry, with expertise in quality management and ISO 9001 systems.
