Our Regulatory Performance and Insights (RPI) function provides hindsight, insight, foresight and oversight to enable the effectiveness, efficiency, resilience and fairness of the whole of the land transport regulatory system.Based in RPI’s Intelligence & Risk team, the Principal Analyst, Regulatory Risk will be the thought leader in risk based regulatory practices and processes, risk identification, assessment, and how to apply regulatory risk practices to the best effect to obtain insight and foresight that will inform improvements in line with our regulatory stewardship role. This will include leading the development of our ways of working and solutions, taking responsibility for delivery of high-quality risk assessments and issue/incident management, and taking an active lead on all work in this area of expertise that is required to deliver to the Director of Land Transport Monitoring Programme and Annual Priorities.We are looking for someone who has excellent interpersonal skills and thrives in a fast-paced environment alongside the necessary key technical skills. - Experience building and advising on the use of risk-based regulatory practices

- A strong track record of delivery from your previous roles
The following would also be an advantage:
- A relevant qualification
- Knowledge of the land transport system and/or regulation
- Knowledge and experience of applying Te Ao Māori principles
It is expected the holder of this role will be privy to classified information from time to time and understands the New Zealand governments classification system and how to maintain information in line with current policies and requirements.You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori.
