There are a growing number of employee led networks to promote the goals and needs of our diverse communities, such as our Rainbow Network, Pacific Network, Women’s Network, and Tū Rangatira Māori Network.About your team / Ko te tīmaThe Finance business unit is responsible for providing assurance and robust financial management, systems, processes and advice in line with our legal obligations and Crown Entity expectations.A business partnership model is in place to provide leaders with the support and advice they require to make sound and informed financial decisions.About the role / Ō te tūrangaReporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role requires a strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset and a solid foundation in accounting and economics. You’re comfortable navigating complexity, translating economic and fiscal insights into actionable strategies and support evidence-based investment decisions, and working collaboratively to drive performance. You enjoy shaping financial conversations that support long-term outcomes and value for money.In this role you’ll be at the forefront of long-term financial modelling and planning. You’ll lead out-year budgeting by combining your understanding of Treasury forecasts, economic trends, and activity-based costing (ABC). Your work will directly influence strategic investment decisions and help ensure WorkSafe is financially prepared for the challenges ahead.What You’ll Do/ Ko tōu ake mahi

  • Lead economic and financial modelling to inform future planning and support budget bids.
  • Translate macroeconomic insights and Treasury forecasts into actionable financial strategies.
  • Evaluate investment options, risk profiles, and performance metrics to inform strategic decisions.
  • Support the CFO and Executive Leadership Team to develop and implement sustainable financial strategies.
  • Collaborate with Finance Business Partners and operational leaders to embed financial plans and objectives.
  • Educate kaimahi on financial principles to support sound decision-making across the organisation.
  • Continuously reviewing and adjusting financial strategies in response to changing external conditions.

What You’ll Bring / Ko ngā pukenga ōu

  • Proven experience in financial strategy, forecasting, and economic modelling.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to influence and build trust across all levels of an organisation
  • The ability to interpret economic data and Treasury forecasts to support planning.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • A collaborative approach, working across functions to implement plans and manage financial risks.
