Join us in our groundbreaking project to develop state of the art simulation for the analysis and optimization of silicon single crystal production.The section for Manufacturing Engineering at DTU Construct is seeking two highly motivated postdocs for a project on multi-physics, multi-scale simulation of single silicon crystal manufacturing. The project is about developing the next generation of Float-Zone silicon crystals increasing the crystal diameter from today’s industry standard of 200 mm to the future crystal size of 300 mm. The project is carried out in close cooperation with Topsil GlobalWafers A/S and researchers at the Technical University of Denmark.In the project you will:

You will collaborate closely and receive support from experts in modelling of manufacturing processes and materials science at DTU, as well as engineering specialists from the project’s industrial partner.You will in combination cover multi-physics modelling of manufacturing engineering and mechanical engineering as well as materials science. We are particularly looking for candidates with strong backgrounds (preferably PhDs) within mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, materials science, applied mathematics or physics. Specific disciplines will involve heat transfer, fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, materials science including phase changes, numerical mathematics and data analytics based on statistics and/or machine learning. Each of the postdoc positions will be moulded over the applicants’ specific competences and interests.Responsibilities
