You will work in a multidisciplinary, international environment, collaborating with top researchers at DTU and key industrial partners.You will be affiliated with the International Center for Indoor Environment and Energy (ICIEE) at the Department of Environmental and Resource Engineering (DTU Sustain) of Technical University of Denmark. The ICIEE undertakes internationally leading research and teaching in the field of indoor environmental quality (IEQ) and its impact on human well-being. This section is currently made up of researchers from various nationalities.The Postdoc position will focus on advancing the understanding of IEQ and its impact on human well-being. This involves designing and executing controlled experiments and field studies, analyzing data, and disseminating findings through scientific publications and conferences. The outcomes will directly support the project’s vision of enhancing indoor environmental quality and human well-being through innovative research.Responsibilities and qualifications
The position aims to:

  • Conduct research on indoor environmental quality (IEQ) and its impact on human well-being.
  • Design and execute controlled multi-domain experiments in living labs and field studies in various indoor environments.
  • Analyze data related to thermal comfort, visual comfort, IAQ and acoustics.
  • Collaborate with local and international stakeholders, including industry partners, academic institutions, and research networks.
  • Actively collaborate in international projects on buildings’ energy efficiency and performance.
  • Participate in international projects such as IEA EBC Annexes.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
  • Supervise and mentor students in BSc and MSc projects.

The candidate is also expected to actively contribute to raising funds for new research projects and to promote DTU Sustain activities.As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) and at least 2 additional years of academic experience.Candidates are expected to have the following technical qualifications:

  • Strong background in IEQ and human well-being, in particular for vulnerable populations.
  • Experience with experimental design, IEQ measurements, and data analysis.
  • Proven track record of scientific publications and conference presentations.
  • Experience with statistical and mathematical software, as well as energy and daylight dynamic simulations.
  • Experience with building energy efficiency and energy performance certificates.
  • Knowledge of energy sustainability and resilience of buildings in the context of climate change.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.

Furthermore, the candidate should fulfil the following criteria:

  • Self-motivation in research and innovation.
  • Dedication and desire to learn.
  • The ability to present results in technical reports and prepare scientific papers.
  • The ability to work in a project team and to take responsibility for their own research goals.
  • Fluency in communicating and reporting in English.
