Job description: Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this roleMō te tūnga’| About the role’We are seeking three highly motivated and collaborative advisors to work within our Policy Group. The roles will sit in three different teams that each have a different focus area. The teams and their work programmes are closely connected so the three roles are being recruited jointly.’The roles available are:Permanent role in the Urban Development and Infrastructure team, which sits within the Housing Market and Urban Performance Branch. This branch develops policy and legislation to address issues and opportunities with the underlying drivers of housing supply and urban performance. This team works across the organisation and with other Government agencies to deliver policy advice on Going for Housing Growth (particularly legislative change relating to infrastructure funding and financing), and government’s urban development legislation, funds and programmes.Permanent role within the Māori Housing team. Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga is strongly committed to addressing the disparities that exist for Māori in relation to homelessness / housing. This team proactively identify barriers to, and opportunities for, the improvement of housing policy and services for Māori. The team leads work, as well as supporting other teams within HUD to apply the Treaty and consider the impacts on Māori of their work. An understanding of kaupapa Māori approaches and the aspirations of iwi, hapū and whānau is desirable but you do not need to speak te reo Māori to do this role.12-month fixed term role in the Operational Policy team. This team leads a variety of projects, ranging from delivering on one of the key Government targets and working with policy teams on wider system approaches. We deliver operational policy changes to address housing needs that arise from issues within the housing and urban system and broader social sector.
