Job description: Entity: Production & OperationsJob Family Group: Strategic Planning & Business Development GroupJob Description:We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Performance & Planning Engineer to design and implement data-driven solutions that improve performance, planning, execution, and strategic decision-making across our upstream development business. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, technical expertise in planning tools (e.g., DSO), experience with data standardization, and the ability to run capital and production sensitivities to support business agility.Key ResponsibilitiesData-Driven Planning Solutions – Design and implement integrated technical and data solutions that improve well planning, execution efficiency, and business outcomes.Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with Development, Technology, Business Units, and Finance to identify key issues and define strategic priorities. Lead efforts to develop scalable standards, defined metrics, and decision-support tools.Metric Standardization & Process Improvement – Create and maintain standardized calculations and workflows for key business metrics. Improve consistency and clarity across the enterprise.Reporting & Tool Development – Oversee the development of reporting tools that turn data into actionable insights. Drive automation and simplification.Enterprise Alignment & Continuous Improvement – Ensure all planning solutions align with company-wide standards, workflows, and best practices. Champion continuous improvement across assets.Liaison Between Stakeholders & Technical Teams – Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and software development teams, ensuring full lifecycle support for internally developed tools.Strategic Scenario & Sensitivity Analysis – Support M&A assessments, capital strategy adjustments, and production planning via rapid scenario modeling (e.g., rig schedules, blowdown scenarios, acquisition modeling).Business Unit Planning Redundancy & Support – Serve as a flexible planning resource for Business Units as needed, providing redundancy and continuity in high-impact planning cycles.Essential Education & ExperienceMust be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field10+ years of relevant experience in upstream planning, data analytics, or technical project managementStrong coding and data management skills (Python, SQL, Power BI, etc.)Experience with planning software, systems, and modeling (e.g., DSO, Spotfire, Aries, Enersight)Demonstrated ability to standardize metrics, improve data flows, and deliver impactful reporting toolsExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teamsHigh business acumen and a bias for action in ambiguous environmentsPreferred QualificationsExperience with M&A, strategic planning, or capital efficiency analysisFamiliarity with oil & gas development workflows and cross-functional teamsHow much do we pay (Base) $195,000 – $240,000.
