Job description: Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form. The successful participant will join our meals on wheels programme. They will receive a complete induction, be introduced to team, and be given all policies and procedures of our organisation. They will be mentored by the manager on a weekly basis and will have access to the manager at all times. The team will guide in the day to day running of our services and the candidate will assist and learn in the following tasks: – Collection of clients from their homes – Accompanying the driver – Delivering of hot meals – Attending of team meetings – Attending both accredited and non -accredited training – Completing errands as directed. Our hours of service are 9 – 5 Monday to Friday – WPEP is 30 hours per week.Role Description This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP. The participant will receive formal/informal training and mentoring in the following: Formal training we will provide are as follows: HACCP training Manual Handling Work Experience QQI Module Induction online training. Informal training Meet and greeting clients Safe transportation of clients with different needs How to transport food in a safe way at the right temperature Confidentiality How to use a wheelchair lift
