The Nurse Case Manager I serves as a clinical expert related to discharge planning, resource utilization, and case management.Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and three years work experience as a Registered Nurse required. Prior leadership experience preferred. One year of case management and/or utilization review work experience preferred. Case Management certification preferred. Staff hired prior to July 1, 2013, will be grandfathered in regards to education requirement.Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensure as a registered nurse by the state of South Carolina or compact state required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or ACLS required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.Additional Job DescriptionPhysical Requirements: Ability to perform job functions while standing. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction.
