Your work will provide insights that directly support strategic financial decision-making, ensuring the organisation is well-positioned to meet future challenges.The role is responsible for leading a team of professionals to coordinate and manage overall financial planning, rolling forecasting and budgeting processes, working closely with Financial Services teams and wider business functions to ensure timely and well-promoted communications, information and support.Accountabilities include:

  • Lead the collaborative development and communication of the Long-Term Financial Plan to meet the current and future funding needs of the business, as related to its organisational strategies and the external environment.
  • Analyse and understand monthly business results and their potential risks and/or any wider impacts/flow-on effects for business functions, producing meaningful reports and analysis.
  • Along with the Head of Strategic Finance and Finance Business Partners, design and implement integrated management reporting and analysis, that leverages on current and evolving information system capabilities, informing financial decision-making, reporting and risk management across Hato Hone St John.
  • Support the financial reporting process within the business led by the Group Reporting Manager. The reporting process involves reporting and commentary for the Executive Leadership Team and Priory Board.

This role reports into the Head of Strategic Finance and can be based from Auckland or Christchurch.QualificationsKo wai koe – About you:Are you a strategic financial leader looking for a new opportunity to shape the financial strategy and performance of a truly purposeful organisation? Success will require the following:

  • Membership of CAANZ or experience within a technical financial environment with a financial planning and analysis lens.
  • Significant leadership experience within a large complex organisation (commercial preferred), with strong experience in financial performance reporting, planning and analysis.
  • Strong financial acumen, strategic thinking & analytical capability.
  • Significant technical experience in business intelligence systems, particularly Microsoft PowerBI. Database systems/queries, report writing, SQL, writing macros and high-level skills in Excel is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability in developing relationships across a business.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in best practice financial planning processes (budgeting, forecasting, long term financial planning), developing business cases and strategic scenario analysis.
