Job description: Job Title: MicrobiologistOur client in Calgary is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Microbiology Technician to join our laboratory team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing microbiological testing to support laboratory operations and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in microbiology who is passionate about contributing to the food and beverage industry.Key Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiological analyses on samples from food, beverage, and environmental sources in accordance with Element’s protocols and ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standards.
• Accurately record and maintain test results using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Support environmental monitoring and quality control procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
• Assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of laboratory quality systems.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate reporting of results.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Microbiology or a related scientific discipline.
• 1–2 years of relevant laboratory experience, preferably in a food or environmental testing setting.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standards is an asset.
• Proficient in laboratory techniques and use of microbiological testing equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with environmental monitoring procedures.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and best practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
