Job description: Medical Science LiaisonPosition PurposeAreas of responsibility include:
- Build and develop enduring peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs and institutions, creating constructive cross-functional partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to meet Pfizer’s medical needs across our medicines’ lifecycle
- Generate and contribute to the development of the local medical plan, execute by communicating medical insights and knowledge about the product or disease area, implementation of local non-interventional studies, following up on IIR opportunities, management of advisory boards/expert meetings, scientific engagements with HCPs and other medical activities such as early access programs
- Provide high-quality, fair and balanced information to key customers and stakeholders in response to unsolicited requests for information
- Ensure customer intelligence and customer findings are fed back into the organization to generate customer insights and leverage medical opportunities
- Ensure that aforementioned role fulfills Pfizer’s code of conduct as well as any compliance regulations implemented by local government authorities or industry organizations
Primary duties:1. On-site scientific medical engagement
- Communicate scientific data and have in-depth discussion with HCPs on assigned portfolio.
- Generate medical insights through Medical-to-Medical communication which helps to understand the unmet medical needs and explore ways to address.
2. Key Stakeholder Management
- Interact with & develop enduring relationships with local/regional opinion leaders and advisors on clinical practice, develop and execute KOL management strategy
- Key stakeholder mapping and development
3. Data Generation
- Generate medical insights through advisory boards/expert meetings, scientific engagements with HCPs and other medical activities such as early access programs
- Support the generation of real world data for drug enlistment and patient access programs.
- Work with investigators to evaluate their IIR proposals, and with sites to provide medical input
4. Medical Strategy
- Medical input into regional medical team, marketing team and relevant cross functional team, bringing in customer insights from the medical perspective and contributing to the execution of local operating plans.
- To communicate customer feedback on product development and life-cycle strategies
Training & Education:
- Pharmacist or Master Degree or above in Medical Sciences e.g. Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Pharmacology or related fields
Prior Experience:
- Minimum 1 years working experience in pharmaceutical industry
- Solid understanding of the local health care environment and pharmaceutical function
- Experience in formal presentations to HCPs, regulatory and reimbursement authorities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Self-motivated and a great team player
- Multi-task effectively and being able to prioritize to meet deadlines
- Proficient in English and Chinese
