Job description: Job Title: Master Data Management Support SpecialistLocation: Preston. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.Salary: £50,000+ depending on skills and experienceWhat you’ll be doing:
- Act as the technical lead providing support expertise across the Master Data Management product range to all consumers utilising it. Provides technical leadership and support, industry best practice and deliver value on the Master Data Management products. More specifically to manage and administer the Semarchy application
- Manages and challenges where appropriate internal and external suppliers to achieve agreed service levels and quality standards. Demonstrating advanced problem-solving capability, working with developers to perform problem management, incident management in relation to MDM related issues
- Monitor and maintain Master Data Management service activities, including general administration, performing application maintenance and product faults. Leading on upgrades for Master Data Management products in line with BAE Systems requirements
- Supporting the architects & development teams with future Master Data Management deliverables ensuring seamless product transition into service
- To pass on and document critical skills relating to the use of Master Data Management for other department staff and to enhance the full spectrum of internal developers’ skill range
- Represent and own actions from internal department projects and procedures in relation to the promotion and improvement of Master Data Management processes
Your skills and experiences:Essential:
- Data Engineering experience & knowledge in relation to problem solving data related issues
- Experience in using TomCat, MS SQL databases, Oracle SQL, SSIS & Data Virtualisation applications
- Experience in Master Data Management, providing Master Data Management support
- Good communication skills – able to quickly understand and feedback best practice into proposed solutions and wider content
Desirable:
- Understanding of the MDM product range, specifically the Semarchy application
- Understanding of the Data Virtualisation product range, specifically the TIBCO Data Virtualisation (TDV) application
- Experience in working within an ITIL based service environment
