The candidate will have excellent communications skills.Mission Statement:Overseeing the procurement Process and coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as production, finance, Engineering and operations, to align procurement activities with business needs.Prepare and issue Purchase orders and ensure material availability in line with project requirements/production plan.Forecasting long lead items as per Master production plan & design inputs.Monitoring and tracking orders to ensure on time delivery of Projects & maintaining material tracking sheets.Implement & maintain processes to evaluate supplier performance data like on time delivery, quality etc. to identify opportunities for improvementManage vendor relationships and monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.Coordinate with quality team and evaluate the quality of purchased items and resolve short comings.Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers, and stakeholders.Your Responsibilities:The successful candidate for this position has experience in the manufacturing industry and a strong understanding of procurement concepts, candidate from Transformers manufacturing sector is preferred.Candidate must have basic fabrication knowledge, person dealt with Transformer tank purchasing/expeditor will be preferred.Candidate having sound Trade compliance knowledge is preferred.Must be able to handle import & domestic procurement independently.Candidate must have knowledge of import rules and local tax guidelines.Should have exposure of basic material planning based on continuous production planning.Candidate should have core experience of purchase and logistics management of various commodities used in industry.Candidate will have to visit suppliers as and when required to get the material timely.Knowledge of Indian Tax structure, Tariffs, custom clearance and other taxations is must.Good analytical skills with proven experience in cost optimization/cost saving activities are desirable.Must be familiar with ERP and SAP environment and basic experience of tools like lean manufacturing, KANBAN, and VMI.Inventory management, OTD management, JIT management & risk evaluation skills required.Living Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.Your BackgroundA diploma/bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering.4 to 6 years of professional work experience in Purchase.Good Knowledge of import and export transactions.Candidate must have sound knowledge of SAP/S4HANA.Well versed with MS Office.Strong Follow up and Expedite Materials skills.Basic knowledge of engineering drawing.Inventory management skills.Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.Qualified individuals with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access the Hitachi Energy career site as a result of your disability.
