Job description: Job Title Manager, Talent Acquisition, Toronto & North AmericaJob DescriptionThe RoleWe are currently seeking to recruit a Talent Acquisition Manager with responsibility for Toronto hiring for Pacific Life Re and some US hiring for the Pacific Life Enterprise (California, Nebraska & Virginia). This role is offered on a Fixed Term Contract basis until the end of 2025.Ideally, you will have experience in recruiting within the corporate world i.e. financial or professional services and will be skilled in supporting the business in designing and delivering effective, high quality and value focused recruitment. You will also have recruited for roles outside of Canada preferably in the US and be able to build candidate pools accordingly.In the current war for talent, your passion and deep knowledge of TA practices will play a vital role in candidate sourcing and attraction. You will be driven to move us away from our reliance on agencies and will be motivated to build your own talent pools and candidate networks. With a natural inquisitiveness for idea generation in all aspects of the world of Talent Acquisition – there will be opportunities to work alongside Pacific Life’s Global Talent Acquisition team on strategic projects such as D&I, branding, culture, social media etc.How you will move us forward:
- Own the end-to-end recruitment process including sourcing, shortlisting and pre-screening
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to identify internal and external candidates for positions through passive and active sourcing methods, social media, and employee referrals.
- Consult with hiring managers throughout the course of a search on candidate flow, candidate assessment, recruiting activities, market trends and challenges.
- Communicate closely with candidates throughout the recruiting process to ensure an optimal candidate experience.
- Successfully build relationships with our TA Team, University Relations, and key Human Resources partners to optimize our recruitment function.
- Partner with other TA members on challenging projects related to process improvement, DEI, and social media.
- Investigating and proposing diverse and varied recruiting tools and channels to move PL Re away from reliance on agency
- Utilising all recruiting tools and channels to ensure access to a diverse and outstanding talent pool
- Build and manage candidate networks and pools for future vacancies
- Use of Workday to build meaningful and specific data that will drive sourcing strategies
- Undertake data analysis – attrition, market trends to provide insights and feedback Talent Acquisition leadership.
The experience you will bring:
- A minimum of three to five years of experience performing full cycle recruiting with a strong focus on candidate assessment.
- Proven experience of the Toronto recruitment environment.
- Prior experience recruiting for North America is desirable but not required.
- Proven experience presenting talent to hiring managers in a global corporate environment.
- Proven experience of sourcing applicants and avoiding agency usage.
- Workday experience or other HR system is desirable but not essential.
- Proven experience with a track record of success in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to engage with a variety of candidates
- Strong relationship building skills
- Experience in running the end-to-end recruitment process whilst managing expectations effectively
- Familiarity with HR policies and relevant employment law issues
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to act and work on own initiative
- Proactive, solutions-focussed approach to continuous improvement
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication – written, verbal and listening
- Systematic and logical approach
- Flexible and willing approach to work
