Our plans to expand into the Greater Bay Area (GBA) will also cultivate talent to serve Hong Kong and the wider metropolitan GBA.For more information about the University, please visit https://www.hkmu.edu.hk.We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Office of Strategic Initiatives:Manager (Strategic Initiatives) – (Ref.: 24001ZG)Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Director of Office of Strategic Initiatives, the appointee will be part of a team supporting strategic initiatives of the University, including its development as a University of Applied Sciences (UAS) as well as the setup and operation of the Secretariat of the Steering Committee on the Hong Kong Alliance of UASs (“the Alliance”). The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

  • Coordinating and supporting the University’s efforts in its promotion and branding as a UAS;
  • Monitoring the work and progress of the PR consultant for the Alliance on key deliverables as well as the effectiveness of PR strategies and initiatives;
  • Managing the communication between the Alliance and the PR consultant on expectations and requirements;
  • Coordinating and providing logistic support for events and activities of the Office and/or the Alliance, such as conferences, visits and exhibitions;
  • Supervising and coaching junior staff; and
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

CandidatesCandidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • A recognized degree with at least 6 years of relevant post-qualification experience, prior experience in tertiary education institutions and/or PR and events management would be an advantage;
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable to respond proactively to rapidly changing needs;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and analytical skills;
  • An excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua; and
  • Good computer skills.
