Job description:

• Develop and execute R&D strategies aligned with business goals and market trends.
• Research and evaluate new materials, technologies, and manufacturing techniques to enhance product quality and cost-efficiency.
• Lead the development of innovative furniture designs by collaborating with the design, production, and marketing teams.
• Conduct feasibility studies, prototyping, and testing to ensure product durability, sustainability, and compliance with industry standards.
• Oversee cost optimization and value engineering initiatives to improve product affordability while maintaining quality.
• Manage the intellectual property portfolio, including patents and design registrations.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and technology partners for sourcing advanced materials and solutions.
• Drive process improvements by implementing automation, lean manufacturing, and quality control measures.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to the R&D team, ensuring continuous innovation and skills development.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor products, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product enhancements.
• Ensure all R&D projects comply with sustainability guidelines, health & safety regulations, and environmental standards.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in furniture manufacturing, materials, and production processes.
• Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in CAD software, 3D modeling, and prototyping tools.
• Knowledge of sustainability practices and eco-friendly materials in furniture design.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with design, production, sales, and marketing teams.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail and quality assurance.
• Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources efficiently.
