Job description: Job Description Responsible to periodically update the Head of Unit on the collated emerging laws and regulations by regulatory bodies and Associations such as Exposure Draft (ED), Discussion Paper (DP), white paper issued by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and the plan(s) developed for the Unit/Department to ensure proper escalation and preparedness towards compliance by the company; Responsible to ensure timely submission of Etiqa responses to BNM ED, DP as per the timeline set by the regulator; To periodically identify, collate emerging laws and regulations by regulatory bodies and Associations such as Exposure Draft (ED), Discussion Paper (DP), white paper issued by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) To develop a strategic plan for the Unit/Department to communicate with stakeholders To ensure timely submission of Exposure Draft, Discussion paper, Survey, etc. feedback to BNM and Associations To assist the Head of Unit to prepare necessary document, reports presentations required for the purpose of updating the BOD and Senior Management on new ED, DP by BNM To conduct internal advisory engagements with other Compliance Units based on the emerging regulations under the ED, DP by BNM To assist the Head of Unit in ensuring adherence to the corporate governance framework as specified by BNM including any changes to such BNM guidelines or policy documents. To ensure appropriate feedbacks/ response required by BNM or other regulatory bodies are provided by business owners in timely manner. To promote compliance culture across the organization. Job Requirement Minimum Bachelor Degree in Law, Accounting, International and Strategic Studies or equivalent professional qualification. Minimum 10 years of working experience inclusive of 4 years working in managerial capacity. Compliance, Risk, Audit, Legal, Accounting or relevant exposure in the insurance and takaful industry or any regulated industry. Analytical skill to expand and reduce information to fit the forum that is being presented. Exhibit strong leadership traits and good people skill Project management skills. Comprehensive understanding of the insurance business and its business issues. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to conduct training on compliance topic. Able to conduct oneself as speaker in a forum.
