Job description: Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for planning, environmental management, and regulatory processes? If so, this Manager Planning & Consenting role could be for you!In this leadership role, you will oversee the efficient delivery of planning, building, environmental, land development, and regulatory consenting services, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements while driving innovative and customer-focused solutions.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Planning & Consenting team, providing clear direction, mentoring, and support.
  • Ensure the efficient and timely delivery of planning, building, environmental, and land development consenting services.
  • Develop and implement strategies to streamline regulatory processes and enhance service delivery.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including with developers, community members, and government agencies, to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Oversee compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and standards, including the Resource Management Act (RMA), Building Act, and local bylaws.
  • Monitor and report on team performance, budgets, and project timelines.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.

Your skills:

  • A tertiary qualification in planning, environmental management, engineering, law, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in delivering planning, building, environmental, land development, or regulatory consenting services.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on fostering collaboration and excellence.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Resource Management Act and Building Act.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to driving innovation and improving processes.
