ResponsibilitiesThe Manager, Leave Policies will oversee and manage the organization’s policies for leave programs, including but not limited to FMLA, USERRA, military leave, paid sick leave, parental leave, and personal leave. This role will work closely with legal, HR partners, payroll, and other departments across the enterprise to ensure the accurate and compliant administration of leave policies and procedures. The Leave Management Lead will be the subject matter expert on leave laws, regulations, and company policies, providing guidance, training, and support to managers and employees. The role will also monitor leave-related trends and provide recommendations to the organization to optimize leave practices and improve efficiency.KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Policy Administration
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive leave policies in alignment with local, state, and federal laws
  • Ensure all leave policies are communicated effectively to employees and management
  • Regularly review and update leave policies to reflect changes in legislation and organization needs
  • Analyze leave data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement to ensure policies are effective and up-to-date
  • Compliance and Reporting
  • Verify compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other relevant laws
  • Prepare and submit required compliance documentation to regulatory bodies as necessary
  • Conduct regular audits of leave records to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of employee absences and leaves, proactively communicating with relevant departments to ensure leave data is accurate and up-to-date
  • Prepare and present regular reports to leadership regarding leave trends, compliance status, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Employee Support
  • Coordinate with supervisors and managers to address leave-related policy issues and maintain smooth operations
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure leave data is accurate and actionable, supporting operational effectiveness
  • Training and Development
  • Develop and deliver training programs for employees and management on leave policies and procedures in partnership with the Learning & Development team
  • Provide ongoing education and updates on changes in leave legislation and best practices
  • Use insights gained from leave data analysis to develop and refine training programs and materials for employees and managers
  • Leadership and Process Improvement
  • Evaluate leave management practices and make recommendations for improvements in processes, efficiency, and compliance
  • Partner with senior leadership to review and optimize the company’s overall leave strategy
  • Serve as the main point of contact for escalated leave-related policy issues

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in leave management or a related HR function, with a strong understanding of leave laws and regulations
  • Certification in HR, such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or similar preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local leave laws, including FMLA, USERRA, ADA, and other relevant leave programs
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations
  • Demonstrated leadership/project management skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines
  • Customer service oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in HR software and leave management systems (e.g. Workday, ADP, or similar platforms)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail

This is a hybrid role based in St. Louis, Missouri. In office days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Work from home Mondays and Fridays.
