The Manager, Issue Management and Controls will report to the Director, International Rewards & Benefits Governance and will be responsible for overseeing and owning E2E issue management across the International Premium Products & Benefits team (IPPB), building a pipeline of proactive controls to reduce future process risk and advising & partnering with local ICS markets to share best practices in process governanceHow will you make an impact in this role?The Manager will lead a team and will oversee Operational Risk Events owned within the International Premium Products & Benefits team (IPPB), advise and support International markets on locally owned events and will partner closely with Control Management and Technology to create and implement a set of proactive process controls to improve control management practices.

  • The role will involve extensive collaboration with teams in the International Premium Products and Benefits COE, Control Management, Technology, Compliance, GCO and local markets. The role may also require working directly with Third Parties
  • The successful applicant will have experience in issue management/controls and will possess excellent communication, collaboration, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Lead and PMO key International governance initiatives that proactively resolve areas of frequent issue across the Benefits & Rewards ecosystem through enhanced control management practices, to ensure we are delivering on our product proposition
  • Lead data & monitoring of benefits & rewards across International to drive insights and regular reporting that maintain effective controls across Int’l rewards & Benefits and proactively identify issues and potential OREs/CAPs
  • Develop central blueprints across both control management and monitoring that integrate with markets and enable roll out at scale
  • Oversee all Operational Risk Events owned within the International Premium Products & Benefits team (IPPB)
  • Play an advisory/consultative role to local markets and share best practices on issue management
  • Partner with Technology and Control Management to build a pipeline of proactive controls addressing key process gaps/risks
  • Be a key leader for sharing insights, better practices & themes across the enterprise

Minimum Qualifications

  • Expertise in either Third Party Risk Management, Operational Excellence or other Risk function
  • Experience leading projects and implementing large scale process improvements across multiple markets
  • Process driven mindset with proven ability solve complex issues
  • People leadership experience
  • Proven track record building strong relationships with all band levels and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-cultural team environment
  • Ability to influence across business units and galvanise resources against a set of objectives
  • Highly organised with ability to multi task and handle multiple deadlines
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in local markets or across International
  • Experience working in card issuing
  • Experience working with Third Parties
