The position is predominately office based, however you will attend incident scenes, supervise and assist investigators with identifying and securing physical evidence and interview witnesses. You will lead a team of investigators conducting investigations into fatal and serious incidents across a diverse range of industries.In this role, you will prepare and review complex briefs of evidence for matters prosecuted in the Courts, identifying and recommending safety outcomes and preparing and reviewing closure reports for investigations into sensitive and complex fatal and serious incidents.You will share your knowledge and use your relevant management experience, while being responsible for the management and coordination of the investigations conducted by your team, the delivery of timely and quality investigative outcomes and outputs, the liaison with lawyers about the engagement of expert witnesses and evidence.You will coach, mentor, instruct, train, and assess investigators in your team and support inspectors to identify and analyse evidence to produce a range of high-quality documents, including detailed reports and prosecutions briefs.Please refer to the Job Description Form (JDF) attached for further information regarding the position, including any specific requirements, capabilities and pre-employment checks which will be assessed as part of the selection process.While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.Further informationPlease contact Steve Taylor, General Manager WorkSafe Investigations on (08) 6251 2485 or via or visit .   • Relevant experience in work, health and safety, equivalent to a diploma or higher qualification of work, health and safety.
  • Considerable experience in conducting and managing complex investigations, including the preparation of briefs of evidence to achieve quality outcomes in required timeframes.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing leadership, guidance and coaching of a high-performance team to achieve strategic objectives and cultural change.
