Job description: Primary Details Time Type: Full timeWorker Type: EmployeeLocation: SydneyType: Permanent, full timeHybrid role, Happy to talk flexible workingThe opportunityOpportunity to work for a leading Global Insurer.A great opportunity for a manager to join QBE’s Group Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team.Your new roleThis non-traditional, strategic role will be supporting the Head of Group Planning to manage and lead strategic initiatives across the business. Key strategic priorities include Portfolio Optimisation and Sustainable Growth. This role will also be actively involved Reinsurance Strategy and Analytics of the company.Partnering with business and functional leaders, you will gather financial information in an accurate and timely manner, support designing of frameworks and provide commercially sound analyses to support decision making. This role will also involve identifying areas of improvement of existing process and producing materials for senior management including the Group CFO and CEO, GEC and the Board to support effective decision making by the wider business.You will also:Actively contribute to the implementation of the QBE Global Finance StrategyAssist with the advancing and embedding of finance frameworksBuild a foundation of trust and advisory with divisional leaders to ensure alignment with the Group Portfolio OptimisationSupport design and analysis of reinsurance solutions and assess financial impact to the businessSupport with quarterly and annual forecasting, planning and budgeting for Group, identifying and driving improvements and acceptable outcome along the wayMaintain a productive working relationship between Group teams and play an active role in cultivating an Enterprise mindset with Divisional teamsDevelop and maintain Group Planning & Forecasting Requirement documents and update planning models as requiredAbout youTo be successful as the Manager, Group Planning and Forecasting you will have extensive experience within finance, actuarial, investment management or banking roles, ideally in the insurance or financial services industry.A relevant tertiary degree in finance, actuarial science, or business; experience in the General Insurance or Reinsurance sector is highly desirable.Proven experience in a managerial role, with a strong track record of leadership.Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.Commercially aware and financially and commercially astute mindsetExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, work systematically through challenges, and positively influence outcomes.Experience in financial modeling is highly regarded.Project management experience is an advantage.About QBEWe can never really predict what’s around the corner, but at QBE we’re asking the right questions to enable a more resilient future – helping those around us build strength and embrace change to their advantage.
