Job description: Job Category: SecurityJob Description:Working location: Kai TakEmployment period: PermanentREPORTING RELATIONSHIPReporting directly to the Principal Manager – Group Physical & Personnel Security / Group Security / Group DigitalJOB PURPOSEThe job holder is responsible for ensuring the security of Group assets, facilities and personnel through the development, implementation and assessment of effectiveness of standard security policies and procedures across the Group.Provide expert advice to the management and business units on security matters; oversee the provision of security services and systems to prevent loss or damage of physical and personnel security assets associated with security risk exposure; formulate and drive the implementation of security plans towards emergency situations and threats; promote security awareness and compliance among all employees.ACCOUNTABILITIES * Develop, application and monitoring of Group security policies, standards, guidelines, measures, and other associated documentation.

  • Form part of Group Security’s Group Crisis Management planning and development team, responsible for maintaining the currency of the documentation, ensuring the in-place systems are fit for purpose and supporting all training activities.
  • Conduct, often at short notice, site visits, Security Vulnerability Assessments (SVA), Due Diligence and other associated security tasks of CLP assets, projects, or potential acquisitions across the Group’s operating regions.
  • Generate reports and associated documentation required by various Group function departments.
  • Assist in the provision of travel security support across the Group and Regions / BUs.
  • Work closely with Group Security’s Cyber Security colleagues to ensure an integrated, coordinated, and effective approach towards all security related matters is achieved.
  • Provide security advice / instruction / updates to staff and assets across the Group and Regions when required.
  • Conduct special and ad hoc reviews and investigations of security incidents as required to contribute to the continuous improvement of risk management practices.
  • Plan and facilitate projects working with functional teams to deliver project outcomes within budget and time constraints and the agreed project management framework.
  • Determine, manage and promote a high level of security awareness and commitment within the organisation.
  • Liaise, as required, with both internal and external parties to develop and maintain close contacts with Government agencies and share the best practices with the security professionals from other major corporations.
  • Close attention to the threat level posted for that location CLP’s operations and terrorist activities around the world may affect the company’s interests.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The successful candidate should possess the following qualities and attributes:-
  • Minimum 8 years of industry experience in corporate security management, with exposures to utility or oil & gas preferred; some experience in uniformed services would be a valid alternative;
  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline;
  • Professional qualification/training from recognized professional bodies would be advantageous;
  • Ability to respond rapidly to a changing threat environment, and to mobilise resources accordingly;
  • Good understanding of the global best practice in physical security operations, systems and equipment;
  • Excellent contacts and relations with Government agencies, security functions of major corporations and other major security companies would be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of contract and contractor management as well as project management would be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of Video Surveillance Systems and Access Control system would be an advantage
  • Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills.
  • Be prepared to travel as and when necessary, & ability to work independently;
  • Language: Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese, Mandarin would be an advantage.
