Discover how you can make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities around the world.Job Description:Job description (Manager, Global Change Initiatives) / Description du poste (titre)The increasingly active and complex cyber threat environment that Sun Life operates in is driving significant scrutiny and regulatory emphasis on the role of Second Line of Defence (2LoD) and the need for Technology & Cyber control monitoring expertise. Specifically, OSFI and other global regulators are expecting 2LoD to play a more active role, providing effective, near-real-time challenge which requires active monitoring of process and control effectiveness.Sun Life is building upon our resourcing by increasing key roles to ensure adequate domain expertise and capacity is available to deliver the required strategic change driven by new and revised regulatory expectations, increasing threat and risk environments, and growth and maturation of the Technology & Cyber Risk Management 2LOD team. This role will be delivering on a multi-year change program to ensure we are executing data driven challenge across all BG’s. Additionally, this role will be pivotal in delivering on other key change initiatives such as our Risk Analytics program (risk lake), Tech & Cyber 2LOD maturity program, and Tech & Cyber risk training programs.Working with the AVP, Technology Governance & Change Initiatives, this role will assist in delivering our critical strategic change agenda and will help to define and execute these changes across multiple Technology and Business areas. As a result of the increasing active and complex threat environment, we are establishing a Center of Excellence (CoE) in our Manila, Philippines location where this role will be located.Preferred skills (Assets) / Compétences particulières (titre)

  • Experience in Agile delivery (Scrum, Kanban, Jira) and relevant certifications (Scrum Master, Green Belt, TOGAF, BABOK etc.) are an asset.
  • In depth understanding and experience with managing and implementing strategic based change initiatives.
  • Lean design / process mapping skills.
  • Effective presentation, communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills and a proven ability to gain and maintain credibility with key stakeholders.
  • Skilled at working collaboratively in a team environment.

Qualifications (heading) / Compétences (titre)

  • University degree and professional designation with over 7 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Agile Delivery Methodologies (Scrum/Kanban/Jira).
  • Must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and SharePoint including SharePoint administration.
  • Ability to effectively engage with executives and senior leaders globally.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, team building and organizational skills.
  • Ability to relate well to others, including team members, peers, senior leaders and client.
  • Results & quality focused, with a proven ability to muti-task.
  • Capable of being hands-on and working in detail within the context of the broader, strategic picture.
  • Capable of building relationships, influencing outcomes, and translating/communicating terminology and requirements to ensure business/operational understanding to ensure quality results, implementation, and adoption.

Responsibilities (heading) / Responsabilités (titre)This role will hold be responsible for assisting with regulatory change workstreams, strategic resolution of all deficiencies, Internal Audit, Management declared and Regulatory. The roles key areas of focus will include assisting in and managing:

  • enterprise-wide activities to ensure compliance is achieved in a sustainable manner for new and revised regulatory expectations covering Technology, Cyber Security, and Information Management.
  • strategic change programs addressing tools and processes to enable retirement of legacy tooling and ensuring compatibility moving forward.
  • function-wide operation of process and procedures designed to successfully deliver against Business Group Chief Risk Officer accountabilities of the DBTS business group.
  • the maturation and formalisation of the TCRM team’s operations processes and procedures. This will include assisting in the development and management of an annual planning process to provide transparency into planning strategic challenge activities across the three functional areas within TCRM.
  • Participation in the build and delivery of TCRM’s risk analytics capabilities.
  • This includes a comprehensive understanding of new technologies, knowledge of the risk landscape, and maintaining awareness of evolving threats and risk environments.

This role will also be initially focussed on providing DBTS 2LOD function for the review and sampling of TPRM submissions from the 1LOD. It is expected that this function will be largely deprecated by the end of 2025.Job Category: Risk ManagementPosting End Date: 30/08/2025
