Job description: About the role | Mo te mahiWe are looking for a Manager, Financial Reporting to lead our external financial reporting and ensure the integrity of our finance systems and data. You will manage a team of four, provide subject matter expertise in financial accounting, and play a key role as part of the Finance Leadership Team. This is a fixed-term or secondment opportunity.Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead delivery of annual financial statements and other statutory reporting.
- Ensure robust financial controls, compliance, and accurate accounting.
- Oversee collation of insurance claim cost information for actuaries.
- Provide subject matter expertise on financial accounting and reporting standards.
- Develop, coach, and support your team to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Skills & Experience| Nga pukenga me nga wheakoTo be successful in this role you will bring:
- 10+ years’ accounting experience, ideally within a Crown Entity, insurance, or Big Four environment.
- Have a membership of an appropriate accounting body (e.g. CA qualified).
- Strong technical knowledge of financial standards and external reporting.
- Leadership experience with the ability to build capability and foster collaboration.
- Advanced financial systems and spreadsheeting skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
