Will be responsible to:Prepare and develop monthly, quarterly and year-end closing deliverables including the review and preparation of journal entriesCreate new and support existing financial analysis and reporting processes which are used for making critical financial decisions by ensuring that thorough analysis has been completed by proactively investigating variances, trends, and ensuring that GL accounts are reconciledLead and/or support related projects including a large-scale reporting initiative aimed at creating process efficiencies and enhanced and value-add reportingInstitute and execute procedures and controls to ensure the integrity of financial statements, including demonstrating that financial results are free of error and reported according to applicable GAAP and Corporate policiesSupport ad hoc requests from various stakeholders, including but not limited to Actuarial, Regional OfficeEnsure the development and training of staffContribute to the business and financial objectives of Sun Life Hong KongCompetencies:University degree in accounting or equivalentCompletion of HKICPA, ACCA examinations or equivalent is preferredAt least 5 years’ experience in accounting, preferably in the insurance industryDemonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and with minimal supervisionAdvanced knowledge of MS Office tools including ExcelStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and lead othersAbility to collaborate with other teams and/or business units to produce time driven resultsAdaptable, flexible, and self- motivated in a fast paced and frequently changing business environment with a “can do” attitudeAbility to prioritize tasks and meet established deadlinesMust be detail oriented, well organized, self-starter and a team player with a high level of initiativeExcellent written and spoken EnglishAssets:Knowledge of SAP GL systemsKnowledge of WorkivaStrong financial background with broad knowledge of insurance and pension industry.We offer 5-day work, attractive salary, MPF, group life and group medical insurance; and excellent career development opportunities to the right candidate.We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates.
