RBS Finance forms part of the Financial Services (FS) support unit, whose vision is to make a difference on the things that matter.The RBS Finance team operates as a business partner integrated with the management of the product and distribution businesses yet with a one step removed status to promote objectivity and independence of analysis and advice. Major work functions are planning, reporting and decision support to line management to promote operational and financial efficiency, productivity delivery and customer service quality. The RBS Performance Management team is responsible for providing financial support and advice to the RBS business, with the goal of being a trusted business partner through providing valuable advice that drives business performance.The RBS Expenses and Productivity team sits within the Performance Management team and is responsible for the delivery of annual expense plans, including actuals reporting and monthly forecasts, FTE and productivity reporting, and commercial and strategic insights and advice to drive RBS performance and strategy.See yourself in our TeamThis role reports directly to the Senior Manager Expenses and Productivity. The Manager Expenses and Productivity is a key partner to the Everyday Banking (EDB), Home Buying (HB) and Consumer Finance (CF) business in providing integrated financial support and reporting to the RBS business and leadership team.The role involves all aspects of the annual reporting cycle, including budget setting, plan loads, monthly actuals reporting, forecast submissions, plan transfers and financial processes including manual journals and reconciliations; Management reporting, including FTE and productivity reporting; and Business Partnering to the Product Finance team that supports EDB, HB and CF. To support outstanding customer service, the role requires stakeholder management, across a wide range of stakeholders.We’re interested in hearing from people who will aspire toThe role includes, but is not limited, to the following:Support to Senior Manager, Expenses and Productivity across the Product annual reporting cycle, including budget setting, plan loads, monthly actuals reporting, forecast submissions, plan transfers and financial processes including manual journals and reconciliations;Production of analysis and insight to drive Product performance and strategy;Answering ad hoc queries from the Product Finance team and Product business;Building strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders;Actively contribute to process improvement, simplification and cross skilling across the RBS Finance team;Promote a customer-focused high performing team culture, including ongoing knowledge transfer of the drivers of the retail banking portfolio;Contribute to team culture and an inclusive work environment; and undertake any other tasks assigned by the Manager of this role that can be competently and safely performedOther qualities you may possess includeFinancial Services experience in a banking or services/product environment is preferable;Strong experience in a financial performance management;Strong problem solving and analytical skills;High degree of commercial acumen;Excel and PowerPoint technical skills [Intermediate];Results driven;Excellent verbal and written communication skills; andAbility to prioritise and manage multiple deliverablesTertiary Qualifications – hold a tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or an equivalent business-related disciplineAccounting qualification – CPA or CA – commenced or completedWorking with us meansWhether you’re passionate about customer service, driven by data, or called by creativity, a career here is for you.
