Job description: Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this roleManager, Delivery Strategy and Performance– Key role in shaping the government’s operational housing delivery strategy– Develop and embed new frameworks and tools– Permanent role, located close to Wellington Railway stationMō te tūnga | About the roleYou will lead a team to shape the Ministry’s housing delivery response, with a particular focus on identifying the right approaches in different locations around the country according to their need. This is a newly created role. You will build and shape a team to take a system-wide view to:Develop a national strategy that determines our approach to different placesSupport the development of place-based strategies to give effect to the national strategyProvide information and expertise to support our work in place and guide investment decisionsMonitor and report on progress in place and nationallyYou will ensure your team is able to effectively advise on and support implementation of national strategies and plans in places.This includes supporting our place-based teams to work with local government partners in alignment with national strategy and settings; and to feed back to ensure the national strategy remains current and is achieving the intended outcomes. This will be supported by development of an information base that captures understanding of needs, aspirations and opportunities within places.Your work will also form a critical part of our purchasing approach. Based on our strategies and settings you will develop the parameters that support the Ministry’s investment approach and you will ensure key information is available to support specific investment decisions.You will play a key role in connecting the Ministry’s delivery teams with our strategy, insights and policy groups. You will also coordinate with other government agencies where contributions and perspectives are needed around housing delivery.This role sits within our newly created National Settings team within the Delivery group.The salary range for this role is $155,346 – $219,312 + 3% Kiwisaver contribution.Ō wheako, ō pukenga | About youWe are looking for someone who can demonstrate excellent people leadership and team/project management. Ideally you will have a background in strategy implementation with a strong understanding of effective information management.Ideally your skills and experience will includeDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively to develop operational strategyEstablishment of a shared information base to inform a range wide of activitiesA practical and solutions focussed approachAn understanding of government, particularly as it relates to housingA track record of providing sound, trusted advice to senior leadersDemonstrated leadership experience, particularly in establishing new functions and developing capability.Mō mātou | About usTe Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga reflects the intention of ‘the foundation for a treasured home’.
