FSO practice provides integrated consulting services to financial institutions and other capital markets participants, including commercial banks, investment banks, broker-dealers, asset managers (traditional and alternative), insurance and energy trading companies, and the Corporate Treasury functions of leading Fortune 500 Companies. The service offerings provided by the FSO Consulting include: market, credit and operational risk management, regulatory consulting, quantitative consulting, structured finance transaction, actuarial consulting, technology enablement, risk and security, program consulting, and process & controls.Within EY’s Business Consulting Practice, the Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) group provides solutions that can help FSO clients to identify, measure, manage and monitor the market (trading book), credit (banking book), operational, and regulatory risks associated with their trading, asset-liability management, capital management and other capital markets activities.Within FSRM, the credit risk, capital management and stress testing team assists across end-to-end aspects of Capital management, CECL, BASEL, credit risk and ICAAP related activities:
- Key role involves producing critical deliverables to the senior management and regulators including EMEIA, US and APAC entities’ capital projections, Individual Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), capital aspects of Recovery & Resolution planning (RRP), Stress testing as well as owning the ICAAP framework and standards, and having oversight of various regulatory requirements.
- Consulting and solutions delivery such as impact assessments, defining the target operating model, and integrated risk and finance reporting framework
- Quality assurance such as assessment of controls of the Banking industry and similar business lines covering regulatory reporting involving Basel/CRR/CECL/COREP/FINREP regulations or Pillar 2 / ICAAP framework
- Early identification and accurate analysis of prudential developments and influence on changes to the capital framework.
- Regulatory capital impact assessment in legal entity simplification initiatives, business re-organizations, new business initiatives and external commitments to regulators (especially with the PRA and ECB).
Clients include large domestic and global financial institutions, broker-dealers, foreign banking organizations, asset management firms with significant capital markets activities. Project teams frequently work with the senior management of these firms, including CFOs and CROs.Key Responsibilities
- Exposure to any of the Capital Management and strategy processes such as CCAR (FRY-14A/Q/M), Basel III – RWA and leverage exposures, IHC Reporting, FINMA, COREP, PRA, EMIR, REMIT, etc
- Exposure to regulatory stress testing processes around credit risk & ICAAP
- Exposure to credit underwriting, credit operations and portfolio management covering financial spreading, risk appetite framework, collateral management, risk rating analysis and audit support
- Understand the credit monitoring covering transaction testing, risk rating verifications and credit risk score cards.
- Exposure to MiFID II trade and transaction reporting
- Exposure to gap assessments, benchmarking, impact analysis and business readiness assessments for regulatory change management as well as credit policy and procedure documentation
- Ability to work with MS SQL Server based reporting tool to generate reports, decode any abnormalities observed in the results, and implement change requests based on requirements gathered from the clients in UK/ US / India
- Demonstrate deep technical capabilities and industry knowledge of financial products
- Lead components of large-scale client engagements and/or smaller client engagements while consistently delivering quality client services
- Review work products to ensure that the team consistently delivers high quality work
- Understand market trends and demands in the financial services sector and issues faced by clients by staying abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client’s business
- Monitor progress, manage risk, and effectively communicate with key stakeholders regarding status, issues and key priorities to achieve expected outcomes
- Play an active role in mentoring junior consultants within the organization
Qualifications, Certifications and EducationMust-have:
- Master’s degree in business administration (finance, economics) with at least 8-11 years of relevant work experience out of which 2-3 years of a project lead or team lead experience
- Strong problem solving and solution development skills
- Knowledge of Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance and Financial Reporting
- Ability to liaise with business and technical teams of all levels including senior management
- Understanding/experience of databases and SQL
- Good knowledge of MS Visio, MS Project, JIRA and workflow tools
- Automation/innovation mindset
- Professional English language written and verbal skills
- Excellent communication skills
Good-to-have:
- Certifications such as FRM, CFA, PRM, CA
- Regulatory knowledge/experience in areas such as Basel, CCAR, FRTB
- Risk management system knowledge/experience
- Willingness to travel to meet client needs
- Previous project management experience
