This is an opportunity to lead a high performing technical team that delivers and supports business systems, provides business intelligence and data services to support the regulatory and policy functions of our branch of MBIE.You will bring your effective leadership skills where you will be managing both internal and external facing relationships. The Manager Business Systems & Data Products works closely with operational teams within the Petroleum & Minerals and Offshore Renewable Energy regulatory systems to ensure services are fit for purpose and meet their needs and the needs of sector participants, iwi, other regulatory agencies we interact with, and the public.Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana –Skills and Experience RequiredYou will bring your effective leadership skills where you will be responsible for leading the development and ongoing monitoring of business systems to lift the overall performance and efficiency of the branch through continual improvement of processes and transformation of digital services.

• Proven ability to lead, coach, and grow a high-performing technical team in a collaborative and innovative environment
• Strong understanding of business systems, data services, and digital transformation aligning technology lifecycle management with strategic goals in a regulatory setting
• Experienced Product Owner managing ICT projects and service delivery using methodologies like Agile, PMP, or Prince2
• Experience in data management, business intelligence, and delivering actionable data products
• Excellent relationship-building skills with internal teams, external partners, and sector stakeholders with a strong customer experience focus
• Demonstrated success in operational process improvement and embedding continuous improvement practices
• Strong communicator with the ability to lead change and foster a culture of excellence
• Experience managing ICT suppliers, contracts, and performance monitoring
• Tertiary qualification in business systems, IT, or related field; public or private sector experience in enterprise systems
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and public service values
