Job description: Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The role will play a pivotal role in overseeing key functions, including:

  • Supporting the Director in day-to-day operations with a focus on financial and resource governance, ensuring effective oversight.
  • Developing total operating model and leading change management initiatives to optimize organizational efficiency and adaptability of Compliance function.

What will you do?Lead the financial planning, forecast update, cost allocation exercise, and financial and FTE analyses to support Compliance’s strategic initiatives. * Exercise financial control and oversight for the entire Compliance, encompassing Technology Projects. Establish governance controls through KPI tracking in critical expense lines and budget oversight.

  • Supervise resource allocation, organizational structure deliverables, and high-level administrative activities, including end-to-end management of the staff position request (SPR) process and meticulous tracking of full-time equivalents (FTEs).
  • Develop internal compliance function policies and procedures for effective governance in hiring resources and budget spending, ensuring alignment with Functions Finance and RBC Enterprise policies.
  • Lead and manage change management initiatives across Compliance.
  • Develop change management plans and strategies to support project implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful adoption of changes.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of changes, making necessary adjustments if needed.
  • Support Strategy & Operations director in facilitating strategic planning sessions twice a year, engaging key stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment of strategic initiatives aligned with Global CCO’s vision and mission.
  • Prepare and present reports on strategic planning outcomes and recommendations.
  • Formulates and produces Board/Senior Executive management reports to support the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and Global Chief Compliance Officer (Global CCO) as assigned.
  • Drives initiatives on behalf of Compliance within the Law Group and Compliance Group (LACG) / RBC Enterprise, including Annual Functions Review, Enterprise Cost Champion, and other activities as delegated.

What do you need to succeed?Must have

  • 7 to 10+ years of strategy and program delivery experience with transformation and change capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Demonstrated skill in the selection and development of people; experience managing large teams and complex processes.
  • Accountability, leadership, initiative, teamwork, change agent and impact and influence.
  • Strategic thinking and a global mindset.
  • Advanced communications skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong knowledge of Shared Services and the products and services offered through RBC.
  • Advanced research skills.
  • Ability to accept accountability, assume pro-active leadership, demonstrate initiative, and lead by example in teamwork, cross-unit co-operation, information sharing.
  • Business orientation, ability to understand needs of users and address conflicts, competing priorities as necessary.
  • Partnership mentality with respect to rest of RBC enterprise, including other functions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information

  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Other Designations such as CFA, or other Master’s Degree
