We work together with the Business, Procurement, Legal, Tax, Finance operations (AR&AP), Audit, Treasury, Business Finance and ERP Applications teams to ensure accurate records are maintained in a timely manner, contributing to overall success of Yahoo. While timely updating and closing the books, rolling out the accurate reports in a timely manner plays a key role in achieving the objectives of this function, adherence to internal control systems, processes and policies, ensuring 100% controllership integrity along with adherence to applicable regulatory compliance is paramount.We work hard, work smart but also like to have lots of fun as a team! He/She should be a good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills. He/She should have understanding of accounting principles, systems and processes, which is critical for day today activities. Yahoo has strong processes, systems and controls. Thorough knowledge of processes including Oracle application (ie. General Ledger, Cash Management, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable) would be required to perform the tasks efficiently. Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, detail – oriented and prioritize are some of the qualities we are looking for in a potential Yahoo.We want someone who not only performs his/her duties, but is also willing to step up and help other team members when needed. He/She should maintain a very high level of integrity and confidentiality of the information obtained.This role requires working on various shifts (general, early morning, late evening / night shifts) as we support the Americas and Europe regions.Your Responsibilities:Ensure 100% controllership integrityResponsible for ensuring accuracy of global accounting transactions and ensuring accuracy of responsible Balance Sheet accountsPreparing and posting journal entries based on the bank statements and other supporting documentsAnalyze and resolve about the discrepancies in the bank and general ledger entriesPerform cash account reconciliations to balance bank and book balances during month-end closing activitiesReconcile credit card receipts from customersReconcile unclaimed property liabilities owed to States in the USPrepare balance sheet reconciliations and journal entriesManage special projects impacting cash accountingResponsible for period-end reporting to cross functional partnersPrepare and present variance analysis to Senior ManagementOversee internal and external audits and SOX compliance testingLead and assist in business transformation and process improvement projectsYou Must HaveChartered Accountant (CA) certificationProficient PC skills (Excel, Power Point, WordWorking knowledge in Oracle or any similar ERP packagesMinimum 8 years of relevant work experienceKnowledge and experience in US GAAPKnowledge of SOX Compliance requirementsHigh degree of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to meet stringent timelinesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsYahoo is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
