My client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join their supportive and friendly finance team. If you have a passion for analysis, a keen eye for detail, and a drive to support strategic business decisions, this role is for you.Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, analyse, and report monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accurate financial planning across departments.
  • Analyse financial performance by department and provide insight into key variances, trends, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support senior management with financial reports to aid strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Conduct financial analysis of current and past financial data, as well as forecasting future financial performance.
  • Collaborate with department heads to monitor and control spending, ensuring alignment with budgets.
  • Assist in preparing for year-end audits and liaising with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and enhance financial models to support business growth and efficiency.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (CA/CPA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a management accounting or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships across the business.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a commercial property or construction business or similar fast-paced environments.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis tools and techniques.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial process automation.
  • NZ experience
