Kei te wātea tēnei tūranga ki Te Putanga ki Te Ao Mātauranga ki Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa.Ko ngā kōrero e whai ake nei he kōrero e pā ana ki te tūranga wātea.We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and client-focused Library Assistant to join the frontline services team at our Auckland Campus Library.Massey University Libraries support the teaching, learning and research activities of the University, by providing well-designed physical study spaces and access to scholarly resources.This is a permanent full-time role of 37.5 hours per week. Our client services team works between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday. For this vacancy, the ideal candidate will be available to start at 10am.The successful applicant will join the team responsible for providing library services and answering client enquiries in person, by phone, and online. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate the following selection criteria. Please also address these in your cover letter.

  • Strong customer service orientation including any experience working in a tertiary or retail environment
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Experience working with digital tools and applications, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Capability to engage in prolonged periods of standing, walking, shelving books and moving trolleys
