As Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing high-level legal advisory services, managing litigation across jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with evolving laws, and safeguarding FAB’s legal interests. You will support business growth while maintaining regulatory integrity across employment, bankruptcy, and commercial matters.Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice aligned with FAB’s strategic and business objectives across UAE and international branches
• Manage litigation and disputes, including appearances before courts, police, court experts, and the notary public
• Draft, review, and negotiate legal contracts and documentation to protect FAB’s interests and mitigate risks
• Oversee legal aspects of product launches and perform due diligence in all operational jurisdictions
• Supervise external law firms on the litigation panel and ensure high-quality legal services
• Track and report litigation cases to senior legal leadership, ensuring transparency and lessons learned
• Stay up to date with legal developments by monitoring UAE’s official gazette and other jurisdictions
• Advise on employment-related litigation, ADHA housing loan disputes, bankruptcy cases, and trademark matters
• Manage UAE court notifications and coordinate with internal departments for appropriate responses
• Share legal insights and best practices across the legal team and contribute to internal legal training
• Collaborate with external regulators and legal authorities to address issues impacting the bank
• Support learning and development by contributing to training initiatives and legal content creation
• Prepare accurate, timely legal reports for internal leadership and ensure compliance with FAB policies

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (mandatory)
• Minimum 7 years of experience in banking or a reputable law firm, including 2+ years in a similar legal advisory or litigation role
• Deep understanding of UAE laws, courts, and legal procedures
• Strong drafting and communication skills in Arabic (mandatory); English proficiency preferred
• Familiarity with banking products, employment law, trademarks, and bankruptcy proceedings
• Ability to independently manage complex litigation and regulatory issues
• Proven experience working with external law firms and government authorities
