Job description: Meta is seeking an experienced, strategic and results-driven leader, who thrives in a fast-paced environment, to lead partnerships across the most influential athletes, teams, leagues and federations, building and executing a long-term strategy for Meta with the sports industry in Europe, Middle East and Africa. You will have a passion for challenge and opportunity, as Sport is a key company priority for Meta across our Family of Apps (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp) – and EMEA is home to some of the most influential athletes, teams, leagues, and federations on the global stage (eg. Real Madrid, International Olympic Committee, FIFA, Man Utd, Formula 1). You will develop, execute and maintain best-in-class partner relationships within the sports industry in EMEA, whilst delivering Meta’s key product objectives. The position includes the day-to-day management of a number of key sports partners such as rights holders, teams and athletes, supporting their organic growth across Meta platforms, driving exciting creative and strategic initiatives and new product solutions – as well as the management of a team of strategic partner managers. You will have experience of combining high levels of strategic thinking with expert execution, from educating and inspiring high profile athletes/ teams to onboard to our newest products and features, launching creative strategic partnerships to drive in-app engagement; to supporting the partners’ day-to-day operations and business objectives, as well as using analytics to improve organic partner performance. You will serve as the primary point of contact for both internal (marketing, policy, communications, sales) and external stakeholders to develop a solid action plan for Meta’s products and services to achieve tangible objectives with these external partners. As Meta’s external spokesperson to the EMEA Sports industry, sense of prioritisation and focus is required as well as relationship building skills and communication. A track record of educating, advocacy and persuading internal and external stakeholders, as well as having a passion for Sport and Meta’s products – is essential.Lead, Global Sports Partnerships, EMEA ResponsibilitiesRepresent the EMEA Sports Partnerships team and lead our goals, strategies and teamLead Meta’s strategic partnerships with Sports partners across the industry, as the primary point of contact for Meta both internally and externally in EMEADevelop a mission and strategy for key EMEA-led sports (eg Football, F1) developing a 1-3 year plan showcasing opportunities and actions for the team to deliver againstManage a team of strategic partner managers, working in close alignment with a partner solutions managerCollaborate and execute upon go-to-market partnership plans with key stakeholders across Partnerships, Comms, Policy, Sales and cross-functional leadership teams – especially around global tentpole moments (eg Olympics, World Cup)Proactively support team goal setting process, investigation on key areas of opportunity, and other central and regional team planning functions to enable our organisation to be successfulDistill and surface industry and partner feedback to influence product teams for new and existing products, ensuring alignment to Meta’s strategic goalsContribute as a key player in the regional (EMEA) and global leadership teamsHelp define and implement the most efficient processes to help our team increase their impact and work more efficiently with partners – sharing and scaling learnings, resources and strategies in order to drive more efficiency and impactIdentify and onboard a managed partner set (MPS) based upon data and Meta’s strategic objectives, with a clear strategy of how to deliver education, product adoption and platform outputUse data to track, analyse and communicate key quantitative metrics and business trends relating to partner relationshipsExecute decisions and deliver communications in an intense, fast-paced, and highly iterative environmentDefine and implement an engagement strategy based upon Meta’s business objectives, aligned with our services, products and company objectivesBe an internal advocate for our partners and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Product, Comms, Marketing, Policy, and Sales.Creativity to suggest and build solutions that bring relevancy to the usage of Meta platforms, that can be scaled to drive impactMinimum Qualifications12+ years experience in partner management or content delivery, within a sporting environment8+ years of direct people management experienceProven track record managing Sports partnerships and establishing long term relationshipsKnowledge of the EMEA Sports and Athlete landscape with an existing network of relationships in the industryExperience leading a dynamic team in a complex cross-functional work setting and navigating a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated experience in communication, collaboration and relationship-buildingExperience defining, developing and leading programs, as well as organizational and analytical skillsKnowledge of Meta’s strategic and competitive position within market and an understanding of the creator ecosystemProven experience of thinking strategically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations and action plansDemonstrated project management experience, including leading and handling multiple time-sensitive, cross-functional projectsExperience of working cross-functionally with all levels of management, both internally and externallyAgile, quick learner who embraces challenge and opportunity, who thrives in a fast-paced environmentSuccessful track record of managing, coaching, and supporting high performing individualsPreferred QualificationsEnglish Language required, additional languages preferredAbout MetaMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
