Our teams consult, deliver and manage critical water infrastructure projects across the municipal and resource sectors. You will get the opportunity to work on a range of challenging engineering projects in a collaborative and supportive team environment.We are seeking a Lead CAD/BIM Designer (Civil) to work on water, wastewater, desalination and dewatering schemes, delivering engineering solutions ranging from concept design through to detailed design for construction.Binnies treats each professional as an individual and will provide all relevant training, development and support so that you may further your engineering career. A diverse and energetic team and you will play a key role in contributing to our growth and success.About the roleAs a Lead CAD/BIM Designer (Civil) at Binnies you will play a pivotal role in the conception, design, and realisation of water infrastructure projects. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead the design and drafting of civil-related infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Utilise advanced software tools (Autodesk Civil 3D/ Revit and/or 12D) for the creation of detailed and accurate engineering drawings.
  • Collaborate with international design and drafting teams to ensure seamless integration of diverse perspectives and expertise.
  • Foster effective communication channels to enhance project efficiency and team cohesion.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Implement rigorous quality control measures to guarantee the accuracy and precision of design documentation.
  • Assist in developing and managing a team of designers within the Binnies Australia business.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements to integrate innovative solutions into the design process.

About you

  • Proven experience as a civil designer in the Australian market.
  • Demonstrated experience in water/wastewater projects.
  • Experienced in using multiple design software platforms, particularly in the AutoDesk suite.
  • Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering Technology preferred but not essential.
